I started Under the Rug to create a space where experimental ideas have room to breathe. My days are spent steering our long-term vision, building partnerships, and ensuring our values are reflected in everything we do. From the initial spark of an idea to the final standing ovation, I’m dedicated to making sure this theatre remains a home for risk-takers and a vital cornerstone of our local creative community.

My role is to bridge the gap between a creative dream and a live production. I look after the logistics of our shows—managing budgets, hiring creative teams, and keeping our projects on track and on time. I’m the person making sure our artists have the resources they need to do their best work, acting as a supportive partner to help bring ambitious, "under the rug" stories to life for our audience.

ALLIE WILLISON

I’m the voice of Under the Rug in the digital world, capturing the behind-the-scenes magic and sharing it with you. From filming rehearsal snippets to designing our posters and managing our social feeds, I make sure our community stays connected even when they aren't in the building. I’m here to tell our story online and make sure our digital space feels just as welcoming and vibrant as our physical theatre.

Digital Media Coordinator 

JOSEPH MADDERS

My role is to look after the running of the theatre space, organising bookings, and scheduling events. I keep everything tidy and make sure the day-to-day operations are running safely and smoothly. From sorting out rehearsal slots to answering your emails, I’m here to assist theatre makers with their rehearsal needs and develop under the rug into a community hub.
